Prep Golf: Findlay third in third TRAC tournament
MAUMEE -- Findlay High's boys golf team shot another excellent score on Friday. But Toledo St. John's and Toledo St. Francis were a bit better in finishing ahead of the Trojans in stage three of the Three Rivers Athletic Conference regular-season tournaments.

St. John's won the tournament with a league-best team score of 297. St. Francis and Findlay both carded 305s, with the Knights getting second place over the Trojans on the merits of each team's fifth-man score. Nick Mitchell shot a 79 for St. Francis; Earl Streacker carded an 80 for Findlay.

Jack Mancinotti torched the Maumee Bay layout with a 4-under round and took medalist honors with a 68. Findlay's Eli Stacy and St. John's Nick Graf tied for second with 74s. Findlay's Spencer Shoemaker and Hayden Austin, and Lee Rinker of St. Francis were next with 75s.

Travor St.-Jean (77) and Mason McCool (79) also broke 80 for Findlay, which won the first two legs of the TRAC series of tournaments. Streacker and Kevin Lewis (84) completed the rotation.

Friday's TRAC tournament coincided with the St. Francis Invitational. St. John's, St. Francis and Findlay also finished 1-2-3 in overall standings of the 16-team event. Sylvania Northview also carded a 305 team score, with Ottawa Hills fifth at 307.

Findlay will take a break from TRAC competition next week, but will be taking part in some elite tournaments Monday (Kettering Alter Invitational), Tuesday (Hudson Explorer Invitational), Wednesday (Dublin Coffman Invitational) and Friday (Cincinnati Moeller Invitational). The Trojans' next TRAC tournament will be Aug. 27 at the Brandywine Country Club in Maumee.
