12/17/13 11:55 a.m.
Voters in Bluffton will be asked to renew an existing school levy for an additional five years. The Courier reports the Bluffton school approved the resolution to place the issue on the May ballot, but the district is asking for more millage to keep up with rising costs. The district is asking for 4.9 mills and is expected to raise just over $714,000 annually for the next five years. The levy was originally passed in 1999 at 4.9 mills, renewed in 2004 at 3.94 mills and again in 2009 at 3.2 mills.
