VIRGINIA SHERWOOD/ABC(NEW YORK) — For someone famous for her handcrafted gifts and DIY home decorating projects, Martha Stewart apparently can use a hand in the love department.
The domestic diva tells Haute Living’s July issue, “I’m looking for a partner…Love will have something to do with it I’m sure,” confessing, “I’d love to have a more regular male companion.”
Stewart famously joined Match.com last year, and although the site apparently led to some dates, those didn’t pan out.
Lest one think Stewart can’t find a partner to help ruffle up the thousand-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, she maintains she’s looking for more. “[T]here are plenty of people who I could date that would be inappropriate,” she tells the magazine. “Married men, for example.”
Stewart, a former model, was married once to publisher Andrew Stewart from 1961 to 1987, before she became a household name and a one-woman-industry.
While she looks for that special someone, she seems content spoiling her 3-year-old granddaughter, Jude, and her 2-year-old grandson, Truman.
“They are very smart,” Stewart beams. “They have learned how to collect the eggs from the chickens. They have learned how to pull carrots from the ground. They have learned how to roll out piecrusts…Kids are much more able to do things than a lot of people think.”
