2/11/14 – 4:53 A.M.

The Findlay City School district has named its next superintendent. The school board voted in favor of hiring Edward Kurt to take the place of the retiring Dean Wittwer in August. Kurt is currently the superintendent at Margaretta Local Schools in Castalia.

Speaking with the Courier, Kurt said “Findlay City Schools is a great community with some great partnerships with places like the University of Findlay.” He added his focus will be on making sure the district is operating efficiently under the current financial climate.

Kurt will receive an annual salary of $138,000. The contract gives him a 2% raise in 2015 and 2016. He’ll also get $10,000 to help move his family to the city by August.
