A Fostoria man was injured in a crash just east of Findlay Wednesday night. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 7:30 p.m. 19-year-old Zachary Spires was driving in a Chevy Beretta east on State Route 12 when he ran a red light at the intersection with County Road 236, and hit a southbound Pontiac Grand Am driven by 37-year-old Nicholas Homan of Findlay. The impact of the crash spun Spires’ car off the road and into a telephone junction box.
Spires was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He was also cited for disobeying a traffic control device and failure to wear a seat belt. Homan and his passengers were not hurt.
