The Hancock County Agriculture Hall of Fame inducted four new members Thursday. Former vocational agriculture teachers Rex Cunningham and Fred Mengert were both honored. The Hall of Fame also inducted Burnette “Buzz” Powell and Herb Wilson posthumously.

Cunningham taught for 30 years in Arcadia and Findlay. Mengert was a vo-ag teacher for the Arlington, Arcadia, Meeker and McCutchenville school districts during his 33 year career.

Powell was a dairy and grain farmer with about 60 Jersey cows and 459 acres. He also grew produce for several years. The Hall of Fame honored Wilson for being a pioneer in poultry farming. He developed a delivery route to supply grocery stores and restaurants with fresh eggs.
