8/26/13 – 12:30 P.M.
Fair week has arrived in Hancock County. Things get underway Wednesday and run through Labor Day. One of this year’s highlights will be the unveiling of the new Legacy Pavilion livestock building, where people will be able to watch two female hogs give birth to a litter of piglets Wednesday and Thursday.
This year’s entertainment events include the Broken Horn Rodeo Saturday night, a calf scramble on the opening night of the fair, and the new “Susan G. Komen Harness Racing for the Cure” event Thursday at 5:30 p.m. That race will see local celebrities in a harness race to benefit breast cancer research and awareness.
