A joint board of commissioners from six counties in the Blanchard River Watershed agreed to start seeking bids to clean the river. The Blanchard River Stream Enhancement Project board includes commissioners from Hancock, Putnam, Hardin, Wyandot, Seneca and Allen Counties according to the Courier. The project was estimated to cost about $1.2 million. Property owners in the river’s watershed could pay an estimated $8 per parcel for the cleanup.
The project would clear debris from 88.5 miles of river.
