Arson Behind Two Ottawa Fires

7/31/14 – 5:16 A.M.

Two house fires in Ottawa were set on purpose. The Putnam County Sentinel reports the State Fire Marshall’s Office found that arson was the cause of the fires at 315 North Perry Street and 529 West Third Street last Friday morning. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for any information that identifies who was responsible for setting the blazes.

The fires were considered suspicious because neither home had working utilities. Both had been turned over to the village of Ottawa, and were set for demolition.
