Findlay Municipal Court Judges Lay Out Plans For Expanded Space

Findlay City Council heard about the municipal court’s need for more space tonight. Judges Robert Fry and Jonathan Starn laid out plans to make existing spaces in the municipal building more functional. Fry says they’re working with the police department to find the necessary space…

Fry says while the police administration would lose some space they’d gain better functionality by being on the same floor.

The increasing number of hearings in the municipal court are the reason for the congestion. In the spring of 2011 the courts heard a little more than 3,400 cases. During the same time last year there were more than 5,100.

Fry says the expanded area will benefit more than just judges and attorneys…

Renovations would be paid for out of the court improvement fund.
