Home Sales In The Region Were Down In April

5/23/14 – 9:12 A.M.

April was a rough month for home sales in our area. Numbers from the Ohio Association of Realtors show only 103 homes sold last month in the Heartland region, which is where Hancock County is located. That’s down more than 24 percent from 2013 numbers.

There is a silver lining for those looking to sell their homes. The average sale price for houses sold in April was up nearly 8 percent, to a little more than $121,000.

For the entire year home sales are down locally by 19.4 percent. Sale prices are up 2.6 percent.
