Mother Of Findlay Murder Victim Urges People To Fight Killer’s Potential Parole

5/9/14 – 5:27 A.M.

The mother of a Findlay murder victim wants the public to help keep her daughter’s killer in prison. The Courier reports Becky Potter is hoping people will write letters to the state parole board; asking them to deny Christopher Cooper his release. Cooper raped and killed 9-month-old Monica Sue Williams in August of 1979. He has a parole hearing in June.

Cooper was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to murder in May 1980. He was Potter’s brother-in-law at the time. She said she left her daughter with Cooper for only about a half hour.

If you send a letter, address it to the Ohio Parole Board, Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, 770 W. Broad St., Columbus 43222.

The envelope and letter should refer to Cooper’s name and inmate identification number, A158707.
