Murder Trial For Arlington Man Pushed Back To April

1/12/17 – 5:08 A.M.

An Arlington man’s murder trial won’t take place until this spring. The Courier reports Hancock County Common Pleas Court Judge Reginald Routson rescheduled 28-year-old Brent Houdeshell’s trial for April 17 following a Wednesday hearing. It was set for later this month. Prosecutors say Houdeshell killed 2-year-old Breydon Ferrell in Findlay last March.

Houdeshell’s lawyer told the judge he needs more time to work with a medical expert. Attorney Adam Newmann also said he needs longer blocks of time with his client in the Hancock County jail.

Investigators have charged Houdeshell with murder, endangering children, and tampering with evidence.

Findlay police responded to a report of an unresponsive child at the Breckenridge Road on March 31. Investigators say the back of the child’s skull was broken, and he also had bruising on the brain, a broken leg, and bruising on the face, arms, legs and feet.
