NWS Revises Blanchard River Crest Prediction Upward

2/21/14 – 11:07 A.M.

After initially downgrading their prediction for Blanchard River flooding, The National Weather Service has moved the number slightly higher. As it stands now, it looks like the river will enter minor flood stage late tonight and crest at 11.6 feet tomorrow morning before dropping out of flood stage Saturday afternoon.

Downstream in Ottawa the NWS is not calling for the river to hit flood stage.

The Sandusky River in Tiffin is also expected to crest above flood stage now. The NWS expects the river to crest at 9.2 feet tomorrow night.

A flood warning is also still in place in Putnam County, but that is for the Auglaize River. It’s expected to hit minor flood stage briefly tomorrow afternoon.
