State Representative Rex Damschroder has decided how he’ll deal with a clerical issue that resulted in him pulling his name off the ballot for the upcoming primary election, and it’s unconventional to say the least. The Advertiser-Tribune reports state laws do not allow Damschroder to run as a write-in candidate after taking his name off the ballot, so his wife is going to run in his place. Rhonda Damschroder would also have to run as a write-in candidate. If she is elected, she would drop out of the race in the general election, which in turn would allow Republican Party officials to put Rex Damschroder back on the ballot.
Bill Reineke has announced that he will run as a write-in candidate for the 88th House District as well.
