Those door-to-door sales people Fostoria police warned about earlier this week may have had a more nefarious plot in mind. The Review-Times reports Police Captain Patrick Brooks believes the group may have been casing homes for potential break-ins. Brooks tells the newspaper the sales people said they were selling magazines, but were also asking about what residents did for a living and when they were at work.
The group claimed to be associated with Midwest Circulation, selling magazine subscriptions to raise money for charity. Police officers spoke to about 20 people Monday and advised them to stop going door-to-door. They did not have a solicitor’s license in Fostoria.
