Siren Maintenance May Cause “Burps” In Seneca County

3/14/14 – 6:45 A.M.

Seneca County residents shouldn’t worry if they hear warning sirens next week. The Review-Times reports crews will be performing maintenance on the signals. The work could cause them to sound off. Seneca County Emergency Management Director Dan Stahl tells the newspaper the process is known as a siren “burp.”

The “burps” are brief and don’t last the three minutes that a normal alert does.
