State Rep. Sprague Outlines Prescription Drug Abuse Measures

12/13/13 2:25 p.m.
State Representative Robert Sprague unveiled a series of bills designed to help stop prescription drug abuse. The Courier reports Sprague discussed his proposed legislation during an open forum at Blanchard Valley Hospital. The bills would impose countywide treatment across the state and a 9-1-1 Good Samaritan law exempting minor drug possession if the user attempts to save another addict from overdosing. The aim is to stop new addiction, keep current addicts alive while diverting pills from outside the medical system and providing medical treatment for recovery.
