Two Arrested In Connection To Carey Business Break-In

1/11/17 – 9:03 A.M.

The Carey Police Department says two Hancock County men are in jail in connection to a burglary at Saum’s Carry-Out. A post on the department’s Facebook page says officers arrested 24-year-old Johnny Ray Smith and 25-year-old Seth Wilcox. They face charges of breaking and entering as well as safecracking.

The post says the search of a home in Alvada turned up, “substantial evidence and linked the suspects to multiple break-ins throughout several jurisdictions.” Officers also found suspected heroin, marijuana and other drug-abuse evidence.

Police say tips from the public led to the arrests. Investigators in Carey are also looking into a similar incident at Sandy Bob’s Patio Bar and Grill. The Tiffin Police Department says Smith and Wilcox may have broken into the Viaduct Bar Monday morning.
