A weekend crash in the Van Buren State Park injured two rural McComb residents. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reports Jeffery Brown was driving his 1992 Jeep on a trail not approved for public travel around 11:15 p.m. Saturday when the SUV got stuck. Brown attempted to free the Jeep causing it to roll down a hill and onto its roof.
Members of the Allen Township Fire Department were able to locate Brown and his passenger, Cami Brown, while checking the area on foot. Because of the terrain emergency vehicles could not get to the accident scene.
The crash is under investigation, and alcohol is believed to be a factor. Jeffery and Cami Brown were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
