The ongoing drama involving the North Baltimore Police Department continued last night at the village council meeting. The Courier reports North Baltimore resident Maynard Tefft presented council with a petition in support of the police department signed by around 300 people. Tefft also criticized council for treating the Police Department and its chief with disrespect.
There was more discussion last night concerning a reprimand of Officer Robert Fitzgerald for confronting and allegedly screaming at a woman outside of a grocery after the woman had left a child alone inside a parked car. Councilwoman Leslee Thompson said she wanted comments from media websites in support of Fitzgerald included in his personnel file, while Councilman Aaron Patterson said the comments only represent opinions.
