Anger over the murder of Vera Jo Reigle reignited in Findlay in 2013. The catalyst for a renwed effort to reaxamine the case stemmed from a documentary on the crime; “Goodnight Suger Babe, The The Killing of Vera Jo Reigle,” which debuted at a film festival in Lima in September.
Director David Miles spoke about his film, saying it was a subject he felt people needed to know about.

Controversy arose soon after the movie’s premier. The University of Findlay cancelled a screening on the campus after officials were told their could be a confrontation.
During that same time a group calling itself “Voices for Vera” became more active, trying to get additional charges brought against the family Reigle was living with at the time of her murder. That led to the group applying to walk in the annual Halloween parade in Findlay. That request was rejected.
