Road Closed For Bridge Replacement Project

A Hancock County road will be closed for approximately four months for a project to replace a bridge.

The project to replace the bridge on County Road 180 between State Route 568 and State Route 37 over Lye Creek began on March 30 and will last approximately 120 days.

The Hancock County Engineer’s Office says the project will replace the existing bridge, whose condition has warranted the construction of a new structure meeting current bridge standards.

County Road 180 will be closed while the bridge is constructed, and residents and motorists are encouraged to use the signed detour route to bypass the area.
