Art Student’s Painting Earns Gallery Award
(From the Hancock County Educational Service Center)
Beginning with the 1998-99 school year, the Rieck’s Gallery Award was initiated to honor an art student who has shown outstanding talent in the area of visual arts.
Beginning in 2022, the award was renamed the Legg-Rieck’s Gallery Award, honoring Harolyn Legg, former Enrichment Programs Coordinator, for encouraging the continuation of this award.
Importantly, in exchange for a monetary donation, the recipient of this award is asked to permanently display the selected piece of his/her artwork in the main hallway of the Hancock County Educational Service Center.
Currently, 28 pieces comprise this special exhibit.
This year’s Legg-Rieck’s Award goes to Cory-Rawson’s 2026 graduating Senior, Hailey Sparks, for her painting entitled, Lonesome Cowboy.
Hailey plans to attend the University of Northwestern Ohio in the fall, where she will pursue a degree in Agribusiness.
Best wishes to her and all of her future endeavors.
