‘Careers That Impact Our Community’ Theme Of Summer Educator Experience

(From Raise the Bar Hancock County)

Raise the Bar Hancock County will continue to strengthen the connection between education and workforce development through its annual Summer Educator Experience. Scheduled for June 16-18, 2026, this year’s experience will bring together 24 educators from eight Hancock County school districts to explore the theme, “Careers That Impact Our Community.”

Throughout the three-day experience, educators will tour local workplaces, learn directly from employers about workforce expectations, explore career pathways available to students, gain insight into in-demand skills, and collaborate with fellow educators from across the county. Participating educators will also receive a stipend and will develop classroom lessons, activities, and career one-pagers that help connect students to local industries and opportunities.

The experience will focus on three key themes: Building Our Community, Serving Our Community, and Caring for Our Community. Educators will visit Hancock Steel, RCM Architects, Weigand Construction, Gilbane Building Company, Fifth Third Bank, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, AR Marketing, RCR Technology Group, Primrose Retirement Communities, and Legacy Farmers Cooperative to gain a deeper understanding of the careers that drive Hancock County’s economy and quality of life.

Raise the Bar Hancock County extends its sincere appreciation to each participating business and organization for investing in local educators and helping them better understand the skills, experiences, and opportunities available within today’s workforce. Their partnership helps ensure students are prepared for future success while increasing awareness of the many career opportunities available right here in Hancock County.

Educators participating in the 2026 Summer Educator Experience represent Arlington Local, Arcadia Local, Cory-Rawson Local, Findlay City, Liberty-Benton Local, New Riegel Local, Van Buren Local, and Vanlue Local Schools.

The continued success of the Summer Educator Experience reflects Hancock County’s commitment to preparing students for their futures by strengthening connections between classrooms and careers.
