Sheriff’s Office Assists U.S. Marshals In Apprehending Individual

On July 9, 2026, the assistance of the Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit/METRICH Enforcement Unit and the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office was requested by the US Marshals in connection with apprehending an individual with an outstanding warrant out of Huron County at a residential property in Wyandot County.
The individual they were seeking, James D. Fisher, was known to reside at 16368 State Highway 231 in Nevada, Ohio.
With the assistance of the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol Special Response Team, the US Marshals executed their operation at 16368 State Highway 231, Nevada, Ohio, the residence of James E. McDaniels.
James Fisher was successfully apprehended and placed under arrest. In speaking with occupants, it was learned that firearms and illegal narcotics were inside the residence. Detectives with the Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit determined that McDaniels was not legally allowed to own or have access to firearms. Due to this, a residential search warrant was applied for and granted.
Deputies and Detectives with the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant and discovered illegal narcotics, cash, and several firearms. In total, over 2 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, $81,263 in cash, and more than 140 firearms were recovered from the residence.
As a result of the search, James McDaniels was placed under arrested for Aggravated Possession of Drugs and Having Weapons Under Disability. All suspected narcotics will be sent for analysis and official results. Additional criminal charges will be sent to the Wyandot County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
