Boy Hit By Train

On July 20, 2026, at approximately 10:26 p.m., officers with the Fostoria Police Department responded to a report of a person struck by a train in the 400 block of S. Town Street, in the Seneca County portion of Fostoria.

Upon arrival, officers located a 13-year-old male who had been struck by a passing train. The juvenile was conscious and alert and appeared to have minor to moderate injuries. He was transported to Fostoria Community Hospital for further treatment.

Witnesses reported that the juvenile and another person ran around the lowered crossing gates on foot in an attempt to beat the train. The other individual, also a juvenile, was not injured during the incident.
