Pork nuggets (and other highlights from Ohio Pork Congress)

Ohio pork nuggets were on the menu and top of mind as a delicious new product offering featured at the Ohio Pork Congress this winter. Nathan Schroeder, Ohio Pork Council (OPC) president, is hopeful that this specific way of serving pork tenderloin in a familiar breaded nugget helps create additional demand for Ohio pork.
“They’re delicious. They were a big hit,” Schroeder said. “We want to try to get the ball rolling to get this new product in Ohio and across the country. We’d like to see it on lots of restaurant menus in the future. I think it’d be a great addition. It’s a lower cost protein that I think tastes a lot better than the chicken nuggets. We love our chicken friends, but I do think our product tastes very good.”
In 2024, OPC worked with both Oinky’s Pork Chop Heaven in Cleveland and the Kentucky Pork Producers Association to bring versions of pork nuggets to Cleveland Browns fans both before and after games last season.… Continue reading
