4/11/19 – 12:21 P.M.
A developer has plans in place to build on the site of the former Argyle building in downtown Findlay. Alliance Economic Development Director Tim Mayle outlined the proposed $30 million project Thursday morning

The plans also call for the renovation of the Wine Merchant building just to the south of the lot.
For the project to move forward, the city will have to sell a parking lot behind the property to the Blanchard Valley Port Authority. Alliance Economic Development Director Tim Mayle explains how they plan to handle the loss of the lot

Mayle says the developer will agree to continue to follow city parking policy rules for the spaces moved into the building. That includes the roughly 30 public parking spaces.
Mayle says a lot has changed since the fire to make this project appealing to a developer

The proposal to sell the parking lot heads to Findlay City Council at their next meeting. Mayle expects the proposal to go through three readings.
The developer of the proposed building is 500 Block West LLC. Mayle says the earliest they could break ground is in the spring of 2020.
