Blanchard River Benching Construction To Start On October 29

Local leaders and elected officials held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Blanchard River flood mitigation project earlier this month. Construction crews will start the physical work before October ends. Project Manager Steve Wilson says Helms and Sons Construction had to finalize some permits before they could begin. They’ll start removing riffle structures in the river on October 29.

Wilson updated the county commissioners on the project Thursday.

The project should wrap up next September.
