Breaking And Entering Ends With One Suspect Shot

06/19/17 – 5:24 P.M.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a breaking and entering and a shooting from Monday morning. A release from the office says that the incident happened around 1:45 a.m. on County Road 8 near Houcktown. The resident found two young people inside an outbuilding on the property and confronted them with a weapon. One of the juveniles was shot and had to be taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

The juvenile received treatment and was released to officers. They took both of the suspects to the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center on the breaking and entering charge.

The incident is still under investigation. We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
