Commissioners Ask Questions About HHWP Community Action Commission’s Move
11/2/18 – 5:01 A.M.
The Hancock County Commissioners had questions about the Hancock Hardin Wyandot Putnam Community Action Commission’s planned move during their Thursday meeting. The agency has plans to move from 122 Jefferson Street to the former Stautzenberger College property at 1637 Tiffin Avenue.
The county has grant money available to demolish the Jefferson Street building as part of flood reduction efforts. However, the agency hasn’t moved yet. Commissioner Tim Bechtol says they need to move forward with demolition to stay in compliance with the grant guidelines.
The commissioners did not approve a request for an extension to stay in the Jefferson Street location in September. Peterman Associates is handling design of interior improvements for the Tiffin Avenue building. The agency hopes to have the plan by next week.
