Democratic Candidate In 83rd House District Race Raises No Campaign Funds
11/5/18 – 5:14 A.M.
The Democratic candidate for the 83rd Ohio House District has spent no money on her campaign. The Courier reports Mary Harshfield’s campaign spending report shows no donations and no expenses. As a result her opponent, Jon Cross has been able to donate money from his campaign to other Republican candidates.
Cross donated $30,000 to the Ohio Republican Party on October 16. He’s also donated to the Hancock County Republican Party and Tim Striker’s campaign for Hardin County Commissioner among others.
Harshfield wanted to pull out of the race after the primary, but couldn’t find anyone to take her place. Harshfield says the Democratic Party didn’t want to spend money on the 83rd House District campaign. That allowed them to spend money in tighter races elsewhere.
