EPA Says Wetland Mitigation Must Be Included In Flood Reduction Project

The EPA permitting process for the Blanchard River flood reduction project found some wetland areas. Project manager Steve Wilson says that means theyll have to mitigate that area of the river

Wilson says the credits will cost $97,000. However, Wilson says they anticipated this expense and it was already included in the project cost.
Wilson adds the Maumee Watershed Conservancy has the Blanchard River benching project out to bid. The Conservancy could approve a contract in September, with construction starting in October.
