Findlay City School District and Findlay City Council Discuss Possible Partnership
10/12/18 – 11:01 A.M.
Representatives of Findlay City Schools met with the Findlay City Council to discuss a partnership in providing School Resource Officers. Findlay Safety Director Paul Schmelzer explained that they want to split the costs of hiring 6 school resource officers.
Some members of council were concerned about entering a four-year deal, not knowing how the future could impact the city’s ability to provide the promised funds. FCS Superintendent Ed Kurt said that the district would work with the school if that issue happens.
The city’s support is based on the passage of the 1.5 mill safety and security levy for Findlay City Schools.
