Findlay City Council heard the first reading of an ordinance that would have the city enter a memorandum of understanding the the Maumee Watershed Conservancy District. Safety Director Paul Schmelzer said that the conservancy district wants the city to handle the maintenance of the Blanchard River after the benching project.
Schmelzer said that this would include the mowing of certain parts of the river. Schmelzer told council that it wouldnt require a lot of extra work either.
Schmelzer added that this wouldnt be expensive. Council took no action on the ordinance. It will have two more readings.
