07/07/17 – 7:11 A.M.
Fostoria’s proposed 6-mill property tax increase got one step closer to the fall ballot Thursday. The Review Times reports that Fostoria City Council heard the second reading of an ordinance declaring the necessity of the tax. The council gave the second reading with a 5-1 vote. Councilman Matthew Davoli voted against it.
The tax levy is part of a five-year recovery plan designed to get the city out of the fiscal emergency by 2021. State Auditor David Yost out Fostoria on the fiscal emergency in May of 2016.
