Leipsic Village Administrator Seeking 81st House District Seat

Now that we know Rob McColly will likely take Cliff Hite’s former Ohio Senate seat, the process of filling McColley’s spot in the Ohio House has started. Leipsic village administrator Justin Barnhart announced on Thursday he would seek McColley’s 81st district seat.

In an announcement, Barnhart said, “As a native of Putnam County, I am blessed to have been brought up with conservative values centered on faith, family and community service.” He added, “As a lifelong Republican, I am committed to protecting the unborn, preserving the Second Amendment and creating economic opportunities that bring good-paying jobs to northwest Ohio.”

The House Republican caucus will name McColley’s replacement.

The 81st House District includes Putnam, Henry, and Williams County. It also includes part of Fulton County.
