Local Law Enforcement Members Attending Westerville Officers Funerals

Local law enforcement will represent Findlay and Hancock County at the funerals of two Westerville police officers today. Sgt. Tom Miller and Deputy Matt Brunswick of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office are planning to attend the ceremony. Officer Matt Paugh and Officer Jacob Atkins will represent the Findlay Police Department.

All four men are K9 handlers. Westerville Officer Eric Joering was also a K9 handler. His partner, Sam, has since retired and will live with Joering’s family.

Joering and Officer Anthony Morelli died responding to a domestic incident last weekend.

The Findlay Police Department also plans to hold a local service today for area law enforcement officers. It’s set for 12:30 p.m. in the council chambers on the first floor of the Findlay Municipal Building.
