Local Support Group For Parents With Special Needs Children Gets Tax Exempt Status

A local group that aims to help the parents of children with special needs recently received tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status. Special Needs Parent Support of Northwest Ohio is now looking for your help to expand their mission.

The group meets from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month at Stonebridge Church. Antonia Faisant helped organize the group. She says around 40 to 70 people attend each month.

Faisant says they can now accept donations to help provide more opportunities to parents. That includes providing respite opportunities, wellness getaways, educational meetings, social and recreational opportunities, and financial help.
