11/13/18 – 6:41 P.M.
The National Weather Service has a new snow storm designation this season. WTOL Meteorologist Robert Shiels explained that the new “Snow Squall” designation is intense but short-lived snowfall.
He said that it is similar to a rain squall. He added that meteorologists opt for this term because it is more specific than previous designations.
