Putnam County Man Injured in ATV Crash

9/18/18 – 5:25 A.M.

An ATV crash critically injured a Putnam County man Monday night. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened west of Vaughnsville on State Route 189 around 7:20 p.m.

John Fisher was riding an ATV on Route 189 about a half mile east of Road 17 when he swerved to avoid an animal. He lost control and wrecked. The impact of the crash threw Fisher from the ATV, causing injuries to his head and lower body. He was not wearing a helmet.

A medical helicopter took Fisher to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima where he is in critical condition.
