Seneca County Echo Unit Doing Well After 6 Months Of Full Time Service

The Seneca County Emergency Medical Service’s Echo Unit has proven its worth to the community. The Review Times reports the Echo Unit is staffed by a paramedic. The unit houses life-saving equipment and medications. It responds alongside volunteer squads from a centralized location near Tiffin. County Director of Emergency services Ken Majors told the newspaper, “It’s made more than 450 calls since it went full time in January.”

The unit started as a part-time service in October of 2008. The Seneca County Commissioners switched the unit to full time because they felt all residents should have access to the service, regardless of the time of day.
