Sheriff’s Office Looking For Residents To Collect Deer Hit By Cars
10/22/18 – 5:26 A.M.
You don’t necessarily have to hunt to bring home deer meat. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is looking for people to add to its list of residents interested in taking deer hit by cars. Sgt. Mark Price says the person who hits a deer has the right to it. If they don’t want it, the sheriff’s office can call someone on the list to claim the animal.
Those on the deer list can either butcher the deer themselves or take it to a local processor. To get registered you can call 419-422-2424.
