Wood County Sheriff Warns About Bail Scam

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is warning you not to fall for a bond scam. The office sent out an alert to area residents Tuesday. The alert says people have been getting calls asking them to post bond for a family member by buying gift cards.

The Wood County Sheriff’s Office says they will never ask for money over the phone. If you have questions about whether a call is legitimate, you can call the Sheriff’s Office at 419-354-9001 and ask for the deputy who called you.
