Findlay Rotary Club Presenting 35th Golden Apple Awards
(From the Findlay Rotary Club)
The Findlay Rotary Club is proud to announce the 35th annual Golden Apple Awards, a prestigious program that recognizes outstanding educators in Findlay and Hancock County. For over three decades, this award has celebrated exceptional teachers who inspire, educate, and make a lasting impact on their students and the community.
For 35 years, the Golden Apple Awards have honored teachers across Hancock County who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and impact on students. Educators are nominated by students, parents, colleagues, and community members. A review and selection committee evaluates nominees and selects semi-finalists in three divisions: Elementary, Middle School, and High School. One finalist from each division will be announced during the ceremony, which will be held Feb. 25.
The 2026 Golden Apple Awards semi-finalists are:
Elementary Division
- Becky Biesiada, Chamberlin Hill Intermediate School
- Stephanie Augsburger, Cory-Rawson
- Alexandria Meyer, Wilson Vance Elementary School
Middle School Division
- Jennifer Burrow, Donnell Middle School
- Katie Weaver, Donnell Middle School
- Susan Thallman, Donnell Middle School
High School Division
- Shannon Wannemacher, Findlay High School
- Laura Rettig, Millstream Career Center

“The Golden Apple Awards are about celebrating the educators who quietly and consistently change lives,” said Beau Bryant, chair of Rotary’s Golden Apple Committee. “As we celebrate this 35th-year milestone, we’re proud to highlight the lasting impact great teachers have far beyond the classroom.”
Findlay Rotary thanks local schools, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners whose support helps make Golden Apple possible each year.
