Man Taken To Hospital After Being Electrocuted

On May 10, 2026, at approximately 2049 hours, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident involving an electrocution in the Village of Dupont, Ohio.

John Richard Breckler, age 28, of Dupont, Ohio, was reportedly attempting to retrieve a remote-controlled airplane from a tree when he came into contact with electrical lines and was electrocuted.

Mr. Breckler was treated at the scene and transported by Continental EMS to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.

His condition is unknown at this time.

Assisting at the scene were the Continental Fire Department, Putnam County EMA, and Continental EMS.

The incident remains under investigation.
