Nurse Honored For Making Special Difference In Patient’s Life

Congratulations to Riley Gerwin, an ICU nurse, on receiving a DAISY Foundation Award!

Riley was nominated for the award by a fellow ICU nurse and educator after seeing the exceptional care she showed to a patient at the end of his life. Riley went above and beyond to ensure that the patient was surrounded by family, including his wife, who was also receiving inpatient care at Blanchard Valley Hospital, as he passed on.

“This type of care, compassion, and collaboration exceeds all expectations of a nurse and demonstrates the utmost commitment to providing the best care possible,” the nominator wrote.
