New Bill Introduced To Prevent Animal Cruelty In Ohio

(ONN) – There is a new push at the Ohio Statehouse to prevent animal cruelty in Ohio.

Video by the “Humane World for Animals” shows foxes, skunks, coyotes and others recovering after being rescued from Grand River Fur Exchange in Ashtabula County in 2024 where several of them were found starved in cages, and many others were found dead.

Now, lawmakers have introduced House Bill 947 requiring annual inspections of facilities that breed and confine fur-bearing animals.

It also mandates that all animal cruelty cases are reported and creates record-keeping requirements for people who confine these animals.
