Strong Crop Conditions Continue as Ohio Wheat Harvest Winds Down
Ohio farmers have almost completed wheat harvest and are close to having all their crops out of the ground. The drier weather was halted as showers came through most of the state this past week. USDA reports there were 4.6 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending June 21.
Corn emergence reached 94%, ahead of last week’s 91% and just below the 95% average. Ohio corn condition was rated 86% good to excellent, with 52% good and 34% excellent.
Soybean emergence reached 94%, ahead of 87% last week, and the 89% 5-year average. Ohio soybean condition was rated 55% good to excellent, with 50% good and 5% excellent.
Winter wheat was 95% harvested, ahead of the 61% five-year average. Ohio wheat condition was rated 62% good to excellent, with 57% good and 5% excellent.
Oats were 51% headed, ahead of the 31% last week, but behind the average of 64%.… Continue reading
